Word Powered: Exploring Free Speech Through Art

National Liberty Museum, Philadelphia

February 7, 2025 - September 8, 2025

This exhibition examines the dynamic relationship between censorship, freedom of expression, and diverse perspectives. Bringing together a range of voices, mediums, and subject matter, the exhibition challenges visitors to reflect on their role in safeguarding our right to free speech, and better understand how language can be manipulated, suppressed, or celebrated.

My work in this show is Construyo-Destruyo. For diaspora and immigrant communities, language often serves as a powerful marker of identity, resilience, and solidarity. In Construyo-Destruyo, I delve into this essential question through the lens of storytelling, exploring its capacity to bridge differences and foster empathy. By amplifying diverse voices, I emphasize the importance of ensuring that all voices are heard, valued, and respected.

Sprung9 at Arthouse.nyc

One of my photographs from the series As Above So Below was featured on the Big Screen Plaza in Midtown Manhattan. This series explores the interconnectedness between the natural world and human perception, reflecting on how what lies above mirrors what is within and below. I’m grateful to @arthouse.ny for this unique opportunity to share my work in a public space.

Three photographs from this series are also on view as part of the Spung9 exhibition at ARTHOUSE.NYC, running from March 9 through March 23, 9 West 8th Street, New York, NY.
